The Placid Pet, Inc. In August 2006, The Placid Pet (originally a self-proprietorship) was founded as a pet sitting and daily dog walking service provider for Whatcom County and parts of Skagit County including Bellingham, Blaine, Ferndale, Lynden and Sedro-Woolley.  On January 1, 2007, The Placid Pet, Inc., a Washington State corporation, was formed. The Placid Pet provides a select group of individuals the opportunity to pursue a vocation (at least part-time) that "feeds the soul" by combining an interest in the nurture and well-being of domestic pets with a love of the great outdoors.   The Placid Pet was also created to be an organization that would make "giving back" to the community a business principal.  Please see our Community page for more information. Our clients put an enormous amount of trust in The Placid Pet.  We are given access to homes and charged with keeping pets -- members of the family -- safe at all times. Therefore, all potential employees of The Placid Pet are interviewed and carefully screened. Comprehensive reference and background checks are performed before a new employee is hired.
