Critter Nannies Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
About usCritter Nannies is owned and operated by a devout animal lover of the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicago.
|
Critter Nannies owner, Wendy left the corporate world after listening to her heart and finding her place in the pet care industry. She began as a volunteer in animal rescue and spent countless hours working to find homes for homeless animals. It was this passion and love of working with animals that has carried over to Critter Nannies and has driven Wendy to build a successful business with her innate love of animals coupled with her extensive marketing and design background.
Upon opening Critter Nannies, Wendy's goal was to offer professional pet care to clientele who sought the best possible care for their pets. The understanding that our pets are our family members and most commonly called, "our children" is a principle that Critter Nannies is based upon. We understand that only the best will do for your pet(s). With that in mind, Critter Nannies strives to deliver the best possible care for our four-legged clients. So go ahead, see what everyone's barking about and give us a call today.
Wendy's Professional & Personal Background:
•Lead Web Designer/ Lead Art Director for animal rescue.
•Marketing liaison & online media specialist at an animal welfare non-profit organization.
•Adoption Counselor for Free Spirit Siberian Rescue
•Journalist for suburban newspaper. A large variety of animal related feature stories written.
•Creation of websites for a variety of companies in the profit and non-profit sector.
•EARS (Emergency Animal Rescue Service) training - 2006
In addition, to the marketing and graphical expertise Wendy has donated, she has spent countless hours at Free Spirit Siberian Rescue, caring for large Northern breed canines and various mixed breeds of a variety of temperments and sizes. "I enjoy walking the homeless dogs at the rescue on weekends and working with potential adopters to locate the right dog for their family." Additionally, Wendy was instrumental in the rescue's deployment to the hurricane stricken, New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Free Spirit joined forces with Best Friends Animal Society and hundreds of other animal rescue & relief agencies from across the country. The rescue not only was responsible for finding Hurricane Katrina dogs homes that they brought back to Illinois, but also heading into the storm ravaged town of East New Orleans to rescue abandoned and starving dogs and cats.
"It was an experience I will never forgot. I met the most amazing people who put their lives and jobs on hold to come together to save the animals left behind. I felt helpless watching it on tv. I had to do something to help. So I convinced the rescue director to start a massive donation drive and a team of volunteers to go help. So we did!", explained Wendy.
In addition and foremost, I enjoy spending time with my four Huskies, all adopted from shelters.
