She is a member of KC Trainers - a group of local pet professionals that meet regularly to discuss the latest training methods and issues impacting dog owners in the Kansas City area. She is also a founding member of KCDogTrainers.com - a group of local trainers that strive to provide the very best in positive reinforcement dog training with curricula developed from the field of behavior science, and techniques that have been tested everywhere from average homes to world championships.. As a community service she founded and continues to sponsor MiamiCountyLostDog.com. A website dedicated to reuniting local lost pets and their owners.
She has been training dogs for 11 years and opened Personable Pets, Inc. Dog Training over 6 years ago. She became a professional dog trainer for one reason - to help families live with their canine partners. She understands how frustrating and intimidating it can be to live with an animal that doesn't speak English, that has their own definition of fun and that seems to enjoy causing chaos.
To address these concerns all class curriculums are designed to educate the owners as they train their dogs. Since training doesn't have to be harsh or intimidating, and should be viewed as an adventure and not a chore, the class atmosphere is always upbeat and positive with participants consistently being asked - "Is everyone having fun!"
