Diana Langley, founder and owner of PAWPRINTS has been a professional pet sitter since 1991. She grew up where pets were an important part of the family. It was only natural that she would end up in a profession dealing with people that saw their own pets as cherished family members.
She served as Vice-president of The Sav-A-Pet Foundation, a non-profit organization providing funds for low income pet owners to pay for expensive vet bills.
Knowing how precious her pets are in her life, Diana volunteered with PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support). She helped care for the pets of AIDS patients, letting them keep their pets when they were no longer able to handle the day-to-day tasks of pet care themselves.
She is a strong advocate of leash-free parks in San Diego, and was one of the original Co-chairs of D.O.G.S., a local park user group. In February 2001, she founded and moderates "The Pet Net", an on-line networking group of local pet sitters. She has taught classes on how to start and operate a successful pet sitting business for The Learning Annex.
Diana is currently serving on the board of The Pet Sitters Conference, an Annual Event held every January. It is the only conference planned by petsitters, for petsitters.
Diana is a believer in giving back to her community. She was elected and currently serves on the Greater Golden Hill Planning Committee and works with the Park Sub-Committee. She serves as an alternate on The East Village Redevelopment Homeless Advisory Committee, and is a member of The North Park Library Task Force, which is currently in the process of deciding where to build and determining the design of a new regional state-of-the-art library in the North Park area.
Diana lives in South Park with her two Australian Shepherds and two cats. When she does manage to take time off, you'll usually see her heading out of town towing her vintage 1965 Airstream trailer.
